"Everything in this world is relative, my dear Watson.

Well, a new decade is swooshing in the proverbial door in a few days, and I guess I'll help it get used to it's new digs by starting a blog. I figure since I have every intention of being some sort of professional writer one day that I should start getting more of my thoughts down on paper. Well, not paper. That would take quite a while to really get all my thoughts down tediously writing out each letter. No, writing with actual implements is for suckers, that is for sure! I shall use the magic of the internet to facilitate my relationship with the written word. Saint Internet, helping me commune with God. Or something.

Anyway, I have declared formal war on my true enemy, mintyninja. I feel that it won't be a real war. More like the occasional traded sarcastic barb while I make fun of her fascination with really ugly shoes. I guess I've put off ever really communicating with the internet as a whole via journal or blog for so long since it's been hard for me to determine a way of actually being unique in this day and age. I've had a livejournal account for going on about ten years, with a grand total of three posts ever in it, two of them asking people if they wanted to go see a movie. They have names for people like me. I don't know what it is, but I am sure it is derogatory in some way. Regardless, ushering in the new decade, one for me that I hope holds plenty of promise and wonder seems a rather good time to start with some new good habits, and get rid of the bad habits.

While I ponder this, I also have to consider that I'll be welcoming the new year with a double fisted open armed hug of drunkenness and debauchery, while I attend a party dressed as the Cowbell Guy from the "More Cowbell!" SNL sketch.

Maybe some of those bad habits will have to wait for a while to be put on hold.

  1. In the spirit of your entry title, "the game's afoot!". I regret to inform you, sir, that you have underestimated the powers of your ninja opponents by not securing the jalapenopirate.com domain in a timely fashion. That's the problem with pirates - all passion, no planning.

But please, keep blogging! It's good for the soul.
